Pretty little boats and blue skies

Hello, everyone. I just found some photos that I absolutely love and had forgotten about completely. We were on our way up to Puhoi one Sunday morning for some kayaking when we spotted these little Optimists waiting for a sail on Kohimarama (Kohi) beach, just a bit down the road from where we lived. 

These are the kids' learn-to-sail boats and they dot the turquoise waters of Auckland's suburbs every warm weekend and also on Wednesday nights. We used to watch them file past below our house as they raced out to the barber pole buoy and back to their club in Glendowie. 

I cannot believe it seems like we were just there pulling off to the side of the road so that I could run down and take photos. I miss it so much!
